Review - IGIGI from Curvy and Stylish!

A while ago myself and the Becky we offered the chance to review an item from curvyandstylish.co.uk

They say great minds think a like! Therefore myself and Becky must have great minds as we picked the same dress!!!

Instead of one of us returning the dress we decided we would dress it differently!

I picked casual and Becky picked formal.

I teamed it with my trusted denim jacket and a pair of sandals from Peacocks.

I took a separate pic of the sandals as I have a bad pedi going on!

The dress its self retails for £84.98 and is worth every penny. Its well made and beautifully lined.

The dress is a size 18/20 (US), so approx. a 22/24 UK and it's a tad too big, I can get the dress on and off without undoing the Zip and I am forever pulling the front up so the boys are away, but its wearable.

In all honesty, I don't do occasion wear as it often makes me feel awkward and over dressed.
I would rather dress casual clothes up.

But I would soooo wear this dress again.

I feel a trip to the races coming on!

What do you think?

Check out Becky's post here!

Plus North Spot-Light Post: Plus-Size-Tall

Hello! In the run up to Plus North, myself and Becky will be doing a couple of sponsor spotlights on our blogs. The first in the series is fabulous webzine - www.plus-size-tall.com

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Plus-Size-Tall is a one stop shop for all your plus size needs, it features all the latest plus size news, fashion stories and trends and the plus size community features forums and a directory. The site has information for not just the plus woman but for the chaps too, which makes a welcome change! There is also a dedicated section for all the latest vouchers codes so you can grab yourself a bargain and a handy blog directory lists Plus size bloggers for your perusal.
The site also runs regular competitions and is currently hosting a model search for Plus Size model, photographer and all-round figure of fabulousness Velvet d'Amour. So if you have aspirations to strike a pose why not have a look?
We're so pleased Plus-Size-Tall decided to be one of our sponsors for the event and we hope you will take the time to head on over to their website and have a good old poke around!

Once you Pop.....

Last Wednesday I once again made my way darn sarfff to the big smoke with Becky. As well as having a few Plus North meetings we also visited the F&F Pop Up Store in Convent Gardens.

The Pop up store gave members of the public chance to see the Spring Summer range, try on items of clothing and order items that they wanted on the iPad ordering table!

And then there was the shoes! Full on, unadulterated sex shoes!

In the basement of the pop up shop was a concessions of The Vintage Cosmetics Company. They are some really cute make up brushes and, of course, fabulous lashes!

Have you had a look at the Summer range from Clothing at Tesco?

They have some quality items at costs that won't break the budget!!!!

And...... They are going to be at Plus North

Friends with Benefit

I bet at least 90% of you have a Benefit product in your make up bag...

I confess, I have a few! I love You Rebel Lite and wear Bad Gal Mascara everyday!

(Keep reading for the exciting part!!!)

Today I was invited to the #bbloggers Benefit meet in Leeds. The event was hosted by the amazing Michelle and Leanne and the super fabulous Adele from the White Rose Counter.

The event was an insight in to how Benefit work from a none advertising marketing point of view and a how marketing is Handled from a Benebabes point of view.

The first presentation was by Michelle who gave us an insight in to who Benefit are and how they work.

Did you know....

  • Benefit was founded by Jean and Joan Ford, 70ies Supermodels from San Francisco.
  • The product was launched in 1976 in a boutique called Face Place.
  • Benefit Lip and Cheek Stain was first invented by to help an exotic dancer who wanted something to show make her nipples more prominent when dancing!! Ohh Lala!
  • All Benefit products are produced in Labs owned by LVMH (Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton)
What I got from the presentation is that Benefit is a company that don't take themselves too seriously (see packaging!!)  The like to push the barriers and break the rules and look at things a bit differently and they pride themselves on their products have something a little bit different from the normal run of the mill over the counter cosmetics.

We also got a sneak peek of the new Powder Gloss Lips Glosses that are due to be released on the 28th June!

They come in matching shades to the Hervana, Bella bamba, Hoola, Coralista, Sugarbomb, 10 and Dallas! They all smell ridiculously delicious!
The second presentation was made by the fab Adele! I willing volunteered to be her subject as she went through the process of what to expect at a Benefit counter. She explained the 3 P's, Prep, Prime and Perfect, and the fact that even if you just want a mascara they will give you the full 'pamper' treatment!

I have visited a Benefit counter and can confirm that the benegirls are amazing! Then we got to play with all the products!

And now for the exciting part!

The first 30 reader of the bloggers that attended the event and visit the House of Fraser counter in Leeds will receive a full make over and upon purchasing an item you will receive an extra little something something!

You have to tell them the name of my blog and if I get the most referrals I will a prize too! Pleeeeeeeaaaaaassssssssssssssseeeeeee help me win, I never win anything and I reeeeaaaaallllly want to win this!

Oooooo and just a little ice breaker we played....if you were stranded on a desert Island, what one piece of make up would you take and which hot boy would be your perfect companion.
