La Isla Bonita.....

Jet2 are currently running a bloggers competition for one lucky blogger to win a weeks holiday to Gran Canaria. All you have to do is tell them in less than 200 words they you are the blogger to win! Here's my entry...

There are many reasons I love to travel abroad. The Sun. New places to explore. New People. A new culture. The list could go on and on. One of the things I really love about travelling is the sense of 'family spirit' that you see. Whether it be around the pool, in restaurants or on the beach. There is something free about being on holiday. I don't know if its due to the fact the the stresses of work are forgotten or that the best of people seem to come out when they are relaxed or maybe a bit of both. But it makes me happy. One of things the makes me happy is when other people are happy and laughing. They say laughter is infectious. And right now I could really do with catching that infection!

The closing date is the 15th October and all the information is here!

Simply Be Blogger Takeover!

Last Wednesday I popped myself across to Manchester for the launch of the Simply Be bloggers takeover launch!

The lovely Lauren, Laura and Em where all given the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Simply Be to design a outfit which would be sold on the Simply Be website. The girls gave a talk about how they came up with their designs and how the Simply Be designers helped them create their outfit!

I think Simply Be have done exceptionally well to allow the girls to design an outfit that they wanted. It really seemed that they were given free reign on design and print, with helpful guidance to what would and wouldn't work, you can really see the girls' personalities in their dresses.

During the event there was also a talk from the buyers and designer from Simply Be. I found it really interesting to find out how brands design and pick ranges. I love the fact they design from what is 'fashionable' instead of what they think plus size women should be wearing. I also love that they seem to be interested in what the consumer want. They were very keen to ask about what we liked, what we didn't like etc etc. and although they are never going to please everybody, Simply Be have, and will have going forward, some amazing ranges and collaborations to launch.

During the event we also go a sneak peak of the AW13 range (which will be on display at Plus North). Items inspired by the 40ies, folk, the 50ies, the grunge era. (I was so intrigued by some of the new range I forgot to take pictures....oooops)

I was also excited to hear that Project D London are doing another range for AW13. Although I didn't love all of the last range of items were really special! The buyers talked about the price range and it has, apparently, been reduced.

I also found the dress of my dream..... the pics are really bad but you will kinda get the drift.... floor length, black with lace over lay MAXI!!!!! I honestly haven't stopped thinking about it since last week..... Me and Becky are going to the British Plus Size Awards in November.............and I have my dress!!!! THANK YOU MISS MINOGUE!!!!

What I wore....
Over sized tee - ASOS Curve
Midi Skirt - Clothing at Tesco
Shoes - Barratts

A weekend of fun Pt1

As most of you are aware, Saturday was mine and Becky's big event, PlusNorth. Before the event really got going I met few of the bloggers already in Leeds!

My weekend started on Thursday night when I met the fabulous Caroline and Kathryn for the Nelly Shoe Event.

Held at the stunning Oracle Bar in Leeds, Nelly was offering the first 150 girls in a free pair of shoes!!! Yes, a free pair!

As I would actually be late to my own funeral, Caroline and Kathryn were right at the front of the queue when I arrived. We want to be inside the first 100 in as we got a goody bag! Once we were let in, it was shoe heaven!!!! The shoes were unfortunately behind glass but they were still stunning!

Apart from the Kim and and Fabulous, I cant remember what my third choice was, so watch this space.

We left around 10am with our goody bags, which were actually worth waiting for, it contained two magazine and a pair of thongs!!! Yes, you read that bit right, and went for some food at Frankie and Benny's. The food was lush and the company was outstanding!!!

Caroline and Kathryn are absolute stars! I also took there bra advised, going from a 44DD, as told by a High St Store, to a , well I think a 38G but I need the girls to check the next time i see them! I didnt realise how uncomfortable my bra was!!!!

The night ended with all 3 of us going to my flat and swapping colours and looking at tights and socks!
