OOTD

Just a quicky from me tonight as I am having a horrid day.

I picked up this cute swing dress from George for £10!!!

I am loving all the swing dresses that are about at the moment. I have my eye on a black and white heart print one from the G21 range at George! I have a bad addiction to Asda!!!

What I wore -

Dress - George as Asda
Boots - Simply Be
Tights - M&S

The Big Boot Challenge revisited pt2 - Simply Be

After revisiting The Big Boot Challenge a few weeks weeks ago I decided to review a few more pairs of boots to show you some of the choice that are available this year.

The second pair I have to show you is another pair from Simply Be*.

These boots are from the Legroom range and retail at £89.

For this pair of boots I decided to get a leg fitting down and try the Curvy Plus in an E fit. Curvy Plus fits up to 518mm calves.

As you can see on this pair I have less bagging around the ankles and although I would struggle to get a pair of skinny jeans tucked in to these, I actually prefer them.

As with any leather boots they are very stiff and took a few wears before they stopped hurting, but now they fit like a glove.

I will definitely get my wear out of these boots this winter. I never realised how well tan boots go with everything!!!

*these boots were gifted to me. All opinions are my own.

#WearItYourWay from bonprix

Shortly after Plus North, bonprix contacted me and asked if I would be interested in taking part in a style challenge to promote there #wearityouway campaign.

I love reading these types of posts to see how different bloggers create a outfit from one main item.

Myself, Becky, Betty, Elena and Kaye were all sent this lovely stripy jersey dress to style.

I could have worn this dress a number of ways but I went with classic meets edgy by wearing it with a vintage biker jacket and knee boots.

I ordered the dress in a size 22/24 as its only available in dual sizes and its fit really well and I was quite surprised. The dress retail at £34.99 which is rather high for a jersey dress, but its quite heavy jersey so I think It will keep its shape well.

A big bonus for me is that it has 3/4 sleeves. Which gives me the opportunity to wear it to work and not have to wear a cardigan. The dress also has a cute little coral zip on one of the shoulders.

What I wore...

Dress - bonprix*
Biker Jacket - Vintage via eBay
Leggins - New Look Inspire
Boots - Simply Be

Why not see how the other ladies styled there dress...

Kaye
Becky

OOTD

I have to admit, since I started blogged and especially in the last 6 month, I have become an avid dress wearer.

I dont know if its because of the gained confidence or the fact they make me feel more girly, but around 70% of my wardrobe is now dresses!!!

My latest offering comes from the one and only Simply Be. As always I know that I can rely on Simply Be when I want dresses... I am currently lusting after about 7!!!

This dress is available in three different prints. This one is the bows and spot print.

I got a size 22 and it is a tad big, mainly on the arms, but it was still wearable!

What I wore...

Dress - Simply Be*
Tights - M&S - THEY HAVE TAGS IN THE BACK!!!!

OOTD

On Saturday night I had a rare night out with three of my best friends. We don't see each other as much as we would like to but when we do get together it always gets messy. Saturday night was no exception.

I always have a battle with myself when it comes to picking an outfit, so decided to only take one option with me.

Whilst recently browsing on the Simply Be website I came across this beautiful fishtail top in the sale for £19.

I am not sure how I missed this when it came out but I knew I had to have it!

Teamed with my trusty black skinny jeans, a black vest (as the top is quite see through) and some silver heels.... I was ready to go!!

I love a good night out but 6am bedtimes are no go for me.... two days later and I am still feeling it!

OOTD - I've got the Power.....

As a few of you may know, Scarlett and Jo recently launched their new power fit dresses and I was lucky enough to be asked if I would like to try the Black Yoke Powerfit dress.

Available from Evans, the dress now comes in a multitude of colours and prints and is a staple item for every wardrobe. Some of the dresses, including this one, also feature the new mesh lining.

For some reason I get total bitch face when I wear these kind of dress...

I did find the dress was true to size, but I think for comfort I would have preferred a size bigger.

OOTD - Simply Be

Last weekend was my my grandma's 85th birthday and to celebrate the family got together and went to the local pub for a meal.

A few weeks before I was very  kindly sent a few items from Simply Be to review.

One of the items I received was the Project D London Queens print dress.  When the Project D line first came out I wasn't 100% sure It was to my taste, but the more I look at it the more I want the rest of the range!!

I got so many compliments on the dress during the day. It left amazing on and although there was a lot of ruffled feather at the price tag when they first came out, you can definitely feel where the extra money has been spend.

The AW project D is out now and has the most amazing Olympia maxi dress!

Evans - Plus North Spotlight Blog

Eeeeeeek!!!!! With just 10 days to go until Plus North, the next spotlight blog we have for your is Evans.

Evans are once again one of our Premier sponsors and this year will be appearing on our catwalk.

As part of the Arcadia Group, Evans was founded in 1971 and now have over 300 stores across the UK and Ireland.

As well as stocking own brand, Evans also stock Scarlett and Jo, Live Unlimited and many more including Capsule collection from Clements Ribeiro.

In the last few year I personally feel that Evans have upped their game massively in terms of been fashionable, and with the collections that they stock I can only hope that this continues.

For this spotlight post I though I would pull together an outfit for the new range.

Leather Biker boots - £79.50
Navy Butterfly top -£27
Black high Waisted Jeans - £29.50
Twill waterfall Jacket - £49.50

For me this would be the perfect winter shopping outfit...

I cant believe I am saying this, but I cant actually wait for winter!!!

Curvissa - Plus North Spotlight Blog

Next up on our Plus North spotlight blog is Curvissa

Curvissa stocks size 14-32 exclusive brands. Styles include occasionwear, casual wear, jeans, jumpers, coats, lingerie, swimwear, footwear and accessories.

As part of the spotlight blog we were each sent this lush pinafore dress. In typical Toni style, I picked black (it also comes in check)!

As usual with Curvissa I had to massively size up. I ended up ordering a size 26 and it only just fit.

I wore the pinafore with a black long sleeve top and black leggings. I would also wear this with a white long sleeve top.

Check out the other girls posts.

I team it with my over size ASOS Curve Vest top and a pair of pointy flats! But think it would also look great during the winter with a pair of knee boots, thick tights and an oversize jumper.

Yours Clothing - Plus North Spotlight blog

With Plus North almost upon us myself, Becky and the rest of the Plus North team will be highlighting our Premier Sponsors on your blogs to give you a bit of an idea of what the day will have in store for you.

First up we have the amazing Your Clothing.

I have been a long time buyer from Yours Clothing and over the past few years have been excited to see that their range (a very extensive one!) has gone from strength to strength. Your Clothing seem to cover every age and every style with out compromising on price or quality.

As part of the spotlight blog we were asked if we would be interested in taking part in a 'Take 5 Plus North'. After looking through the website me and Becky decided that this dress would be ideal for the whole team!

So here I am wearing it! I wore it with my trusted denim jacket, tights and brogues and received compliments on it all day!

I can see this dress been an all season dress.. It would look fab with a long sleeved black tee, an oversized cardi and some knee highs....

Dont forget to see how the other ladies wore there dress....

Scarlett and Jo Review

A few weeks ago the lovely girls at Scarlett and Jo contacted me to see if I would like to review on the the new range that has just launched on Evans.

The dress I was sent was the Grey Jacquard Side Panel Dress, can can be found here on the Evans site.

To be honest, I was unsure whether It was 'me' when I first saw on, but I feels and looks so much better when its actually on.

For some reason I feel like a totally different person when I have this dress on.. Its very much a grown up, power women, business dress and if I worked in an office of that type I would have this dress is every colour available.

I even posed differently!!!

One only negative I have about this dress is the cross over bust... I don't know if it is because of the bra's I own or the dress, but I couldn't find one bra that didn't play peek a boo...

What do you think? Can I be business woman of the year 2013??

Day 2 #30 Day challenge

Day 2
Something that I am good at….
I’m generally not good at anything…. I get a lot of ideas of things I want to do and try, but if I can’t do it after the first attempt I give in.
The only thing I think I am good at is organising. I can’t organise myself. But work events, social things, my work desk, tasks at work etc etc, I can do with my eyes shut. In ‘life’ I have to have lists for everything otherwise I wouldn’t get anything done. EVER!
In my mind there is only two things that I am even half good at. My blog and Plus North.
Although my blog isn’t the biggest or best around, it’s something that I have stuck with and it turns two in August. I have never stuck with anything for 2 years.
And Plus North.  I get enormous satisfaction in the joy that it brings people and the knowing that without any events training me and Becky has an event that is better than some professionally organised events.
At times I still find it difficult to believe that me and Becky managed to pull off such a successful event and have been able to do it again for this year. The support we have received from brands, bloggers and members of the public has been overwhelming. And the fact that you lovely lot have nominated us for not one, but TWO (!!!!!) awards at the Plus Size Awards in November is beyond either of our expectations.
And we will love you all even more if you vote for us!

We are nominated in Best Event and Best Achievement…..
One thing I am not good at is getting to the point……………………….. LOL!
Check out the other ladies…..

OOTD and 30 Day Challenge.

HIIIIIIIIIIIIII, I’m back!! I decided to have a blogging holiday! What with things getting a bit mental with Plus North (9 weeks on Saturday!!!) and trying to find a new house, I could feel myself falling in to the deep dark abyss, so took a step back!
I know that I am exceeding bad at completing challenges, but when Vicky suggested a monthly challenge with themes during the #psbloggers chat I thought I’d give it another bash.
Vicky has come up with a list of fab ideas.  So, starting tomorrow, along with my normal posts you will have something a bit different to read and maybe get to know ME a little better!
For today though, I have for you an OOTD.
I purchased this top a few weeks ago from Evans and couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not. And I wasn’t sure of it when I had it on. But I got quite a few complements on it, especially the colour of it and that it was ‘my colour’.
Yet again, I teamed it with my trust Chloe skinnies from Simply Be (best jeans ever!) and a pair of flats.

I really like how unusual the top is at the back.

I really like how unusual the top is at the back.
This is a size 22/24 and as much as I hate dual sizing, It was a really good fit. I often find the size variance in Evans can leave a lot to be desired.
What do you think? Should I wear Blue more?

OOTD - Sunny Days

Although the weather has been quite warm, its been very muggy and humid up in the North of England.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad its not cold. But I do like a bit of sunshine with the warmth...

I've had this dress sat in my wardrobe for awhile (I bought it when it was baltic!), and it as been my go to beer garden, BBQ and summer stroll outfit whilst it been nice.

I never blogged it the first time I wore it (to the fat swap a few weeks ago), but wore it one day last week when I visited my sister.

What I wore -
Dress - New Look Inspire
Sandals - Evans
Denim Jacket - New Look Inspire

What's your go to sunny day outfit?

Fatshionologie - Polka Dots

Fatshionologie is a blogger style challenge born out of a discussion on twitter in the hope that it would help us create exciting new content for our blogs as well as show that each new style 'theme' can be rocked by a variety of different body shapes!

The theme for this month was polka dots.

I love polka dots but it isn't something I have in my wardrobe......until I remembered this top!

I kept it plain and simple and teamed it with a pair of black skinny jeans and pumps.

I really need more polka dots in my life!!!
